I never understand why this is such a surprise to people. Blogging is just another form of media. For ages now, newspapers, magazines, radio and TV have known that talking about themselves is of no interest to their audience. Talking about the world that their audience inhabits is much more successful. The world's top authors write what their readers want - so why do bloggers insist on writing about themselves? Because they haven't yet worked out that they are in the world of publishing. Do what publishers have done for centuries (write for their audience) and your blog will succeed. Write about yourself and people will depart fairly quickly.
